The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray
This book is beautiful, well-written, and probably a classic. However, I'm not sure it stands alone. It is very much the conclusion of the trilogy and much of the world building and relationship building has already happened. Nay for TU, great for collections.
I agree, great book, high demand, but doesn't stand alone for this award. Too bad I spent all my time reading this 800+ page book while I should have maximized my time reading other books on the list! (But I couldn't resist--been waiting for this one for some time now) NAY for me, too.
