So I haven't previously read some of the "big" name books (as most of them weren't in my group)-

So I finally just read "Evolution, Me...." and thought it was FANTASTIC. It was SO good! I'm recommending it like crazy to people. I feel like it should win but I still have a lot of other great Top 20 books to read!

But for now it's a favorite!

I'm excited! We just received confirmation from Jordan Sonnenblick as our luncheon speaker at MLA 2008! He has a new book coming out which appeals to younger readers, so I think he's a good choice! I told him he wouldn't get paid unless he makes us laugh! :)

Peak by Roland Smith &
Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer.

the event... a blog for teens to discuss the books and the authors will participate in the blog.

It will start in June. If you want me to send you details & the link to the blog (please feel free to link to it & use it at your library if you'd like) please e-mail me to let me know: heilman@howelllibrary.org

Hello. Is there another blog for the top 20 that I am missing or do we just post under the old entry of the book? Does anyone have any new favorites? I still love Ishmael, and ready to pubicly admit that I am not that crazy about Part time Indian, I know, I know, how is that possible. I am reading Peak (well listening to it) and it okay so far.

Hey guys....

No, you're not missing anything, I'm just WAY behind on all this stuff. I promise I'll do a new individual post for each of the Top 20 this weekend.

Also, I just got the Word doc ballot a couple days ago and have been working on it; it should be ready to send out tomorrow. I'm going to give teens an extra week to submit votes; they'll be due by Friday, May 30 instead.

Thanks for your patience...

No hurry, I think we are all busy reading anyway. You have done such a great job Karrie keeping everything organized and all!

Hey,

Are the ballots out yet? The MLA website still has 2007 ballot. When is the deadline? I got Karrie's email but accidentally deleted it. Sorry. Anne
