Forged in the Fire by Ann Turnbull
This was a good book, better than its predecessor (No Shame No Fear) with enough gruesome descriptions of prison, fire, and plague to keep me reading. That being said, I'm not sure it stood on its own enough to be award worthy. MAYBE.
This one didn't do anything for me. I think it is very hard to write naturally when you are trying to sound like a Quaker from the 1660s. Some may be able to accomplish it well, I didn't think that Turnbull did. Nay
