21 Proms -David Levithan & Daniel Ehrenhaft, editors

A collection of short stories that deal with prom night written by popular Young Adult authors. I found this to be a quick and enjoyable read that is sure to satisfy those who desire well-written stories. This collection has something for every reader. All of the stories are fast paced, cleverly written and feature twists and turns. This one is a YAY for me.

True, some of the stories were clever, well written, insightful, but I was SO SICK of reading about THE PROM. I stuck with it to see if there would be a shining gem amongst the stories, but took frequent breaks (and read The Secret Life of Sparrow Delaney in between). John Green's cadence is just like he talks in Brotherhood 2.0 and that made me laugh. Primate the Prom could spark some very interesting (subversive for my community) book discussion material, but since I couldn't wait to be done with it just due to the content, I am voting NAY.

These stories were very amusing and I could see how they would be popular with most female teens, but none of them were all that memorable. They were mostly fluff. NAY

Nothing here I found particularly special. I enjoy short stories, but this collection didn't hold my interest. NAY.
